Tuesday, May 27th, 2008Gordon McLanaghan and the CCTV team from Bristol City Council has received one of the first Gold Management and Innovation Awards from the CCTV User Group.
For the first time this year the User Group has introduced Management and Innovation awards for Managers/Authorities who are doing innovative and proactive things in respect of CCTV. Managers do not nominate themselves, but others can nominate them or the User Group becomes aware of all sorts of good things going on around the UK which they feel should shared with others.
Peter Fry, Director of the User Group, said ‘One of my colleagues was so impressed by what Bristol was doing, following a presentation by Gordon McLanaghan, that he sent me the synopsis. It was just the sort of pro-active good practice that we want to recognise, and so Gordon and Bristol City have been awarded one of the first Management and innovation awards from the User Group’
In addition to this, the Bristol City Council CCTV team was also awarded the Gold Accreditation standard from the CCTV User Group for the operation of the Bristol City CCTV System.
Peter Fry said, “Congratulations to everybody involved on achieving excellence in the management and operation of the system, which has moved on incredibly since I saw it about 5 years ago”.
