GLOBAL MSC SECURITY SEMINAR - 9th MARCH 2010

We are delighted to announce that the Global MSC Security Spring Seminar and Exhibition will be held in conjunction with Safer South Gloucestershire and Safer Bristol. The event is aimed at CCTV and Security Managers, IT Heads and Local Education Authority (LEA) Managers, University/College, NHS and Hospital Trust Security and Facility Managers will take place on 9th March 2010 on the subject of:

"Putting The National CCTV Strategy Into Practice"

Since the National CCTV Strategy was published in October 2007, organisations, especially local authorities have been endeavouring to interpret and adopt its recommendations. More than two years on, some of the ‘vision’ and the ‘joined-up’ approach has been realised in and around the City of Bristol. Although there is still a long way to go in putting all the recommendations into practice, the Emergency Control Centre operated by Bristol City Council is held up as an example of great co-operation between the service it provides for neighbouring authorities.

The Strategy recognises increased effectiveness can be achieved using well equipped town centre CCTV schemes to also monitor other large public areas such as railway stations, shopping centres, retail parks, sports stadiums etc. This free seminar is designed to inform other local authorities, education establishments and public service organisations how joining a service provision can lead to huge effectiveness and achieve greater results.

We are very pleased to announce that the National Policing Improvement Agency has agreed that the newly appointed CCTV Regulator, Andy Rennison, who will head up the Oversight Body (which enables the current National CCTV Strategy Board to become more delivery focused) will be the keynote speaker at this Seminar. (You can download the Home Office Press Release regarding the appointment here)
